Om

Nixi Music and Merci Life present Peia Kulturkirken Jakob --- Saturday 24 April 2027 Fathoms Deep Release Tour Celebrating her first full-length solo album in more than a decade, the acclaimed singer and songwriter brings intimate new songs and traditional music from across cultures to this atmospheric Oslo venue. Known for a voice that moves effortlessly between the ancient and the immediate, Peia has spent much of the past twelve years gathering and carrying traditional songs across cultures. Her work explores the places where music, ancestry and memory meet, breathing new life into songs passed down through generations. With Fathoms Deep, Peia turns her gaze inward. Written through a period of profound change, the album moves through loss, grief and the nearness of death, toward beauty, renewal and the redemptive force of love. Where her earlier songwriting often spoke to our shared human experience, these songs draw more directly from her own life. These are songs of surrender and devotion, of what falls away and what remains when we meet life without armour. Her connection to traditional music remains woven throughout the record, while a more vulnerable and unguarded voice emerges in her songwriting. Co-produced with Trewin Howard of Phoria, Fathoms Deep places Peia's unmistakable voice within a spacious, cinematic soundscape. Organic instrumentation, subtle electronic elements and atmospheric textures create a rich landscape around the songs, preserving their intimacy at its heart. In the evocative setting of Kulturkirken Jakob, Peia will perform music from the new album alongside songs from across her body of work. Moving between original compositions and the traditional songs that have shaped her musical life, the concert offers a journey through grief and beauty, ancestry and belonging, darkness and renewal. At its heart, Fathoms Deep explores what happens when we descend fully into the depths of human experience and discover that love is still there. Doors open: 19.00 Concert starts: 20.00
